授業の目的（ねらい）
The purpose of this English Conversation class is to further assist students in improving all four skills in English. The focus will be on conversations in English, utilizing the discussion points related to each unit. Group discussions will be an integral component of the course.
学修到達目標
By the end of the course, students will have:
１）Enriched vocabulary knowledge and understanding of simple conversational grammatical patterns.
２）Improved listening skills for daily conversations, in both formal and informal settings.
３）Improved speaking skills and ability to give opinions in English.
４）Ability to understand and interact with online media and give responses.

授業で行っている工夫（アクティブラーニング、思考力・判断力・表現力の向上に向けた取り組み）
・Students will participate in weekly group discussions and conversations and also take turns introducing topics and leading discussions of those topics.
・Students will participate in weekly conversations with other students and the instructor in English. Critical thinking and learning to give opinions and ideas in weekly discussions will be emphasized.
成績評価方法
Students will be evaluated by the following tasks:
Unit Quizzes 60%, Discussion Leadership and Active Participation 20%, Homework 20%

(後期は、UNITS 10-12 を扱います)
注意）「英語Ⅰ・Ⅱ」（1年次必修科目）の2024年度テキストと同じテキストを使用します。ただし、扱う単元（Unit）は「英語Ⅰ・Ⅱ」と異なります。「英会話Ⅰ・Ⅱ」を受講すると、「英語Ⅰ・Ⅱ」と相乗効果で、英会話とコミュニケーションの力が向上するので、積極的に受講することを勧めます。

Any English-English dictionary is recommended, such as the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary.

準備学習（予習・復習等）
Students are expected to preview the week's textbook content, complete homework exercises, watch online videos in English to write about in their journals, and prepare for group discussions. Students should expect to spend 45-90 minutes a week in preparation and review.
